Meeting 4

Meeting 4-

Do you know what geocaching is? Geocaching is basically a treasure hunt for a hidden container with goodies or logs of whos been there. For our meeting, we used GPS systems to locate a cache filled with goodies. We learned about lines of latitude and longitude, compass points, and the equipment used to track. The girls found all sorts of treats- silly bands, hair bands, necklaces and much more!
As part of World Thinking Day, our troop is participating in a postcard exchange with a troop in Texas.  We wrote postcards telling them about each of us.
After that, we discussed the Doodle 4 Google creative project. We brainstormed about careers and then began drawing our submissions for the doodle project. Crossing fingers that one of us wins...

Our very first party....

We had our first party and first official cookie booth with ALL the girls was around Valentines.
The theme was Valentines Day. We had Valentines day arts and crafts, bean bag toss, games, and a candy/card exchange. The craft was frogs with hearts and an opening for the candies and Valentines like these but we made our own http://www.orientaltrading.com/ui/browse/processRequest.do?mode=Browsing&requestURI=processProductsCatalog&sku=48%2F5542 . Fun, fun, fun, and more fun. After the party, we went to Stater Bros. and sold Girl Scout Cookies.

We are officially a group....

Our very first meeting was held on January 16, 2011. We had a total of 7 girls join the troop. Our meeting was about all things cookies.  We made name cards and then played a name game as an ice breaker.

Name Game
Using a blanket-2 leaders stand in front of each other gripping a blanket end.  Split group into 2 groups and have the girls take turns being the it person.  When the "it" girls are ready ...drop the blanket and the first girl to call out the name wins a point for their team.

The girls made a display board with their handprints in a rainbow to be used at booths.
